Electronic Cigarettes: Safer Smoking Alternative
Cancer Research UK produced a very interesting research publication on electronic cigarettes on April 24, 2009. According to Cancer Research UK, “For a smoker, the health hazards of continuing to smoke greatly outweigh any potential risks of using nicotine replacement therapy”; yes, that statement includes electronic cigarettes as well. Based on that particular statement, electronic cigarettes are indeed safer alternatives for heavy smokers who still want to enjoy the same smoking sensations.
The electronic cigarette refill cartridges currently available on the market come in different flavors. If you love clover cigarettes, for example, you can simply purchase clove electronic cig refills and enjoy the same taste you get from smoking clover cigarettes. Other flavors including menthol, apple, almond, cherry, and vanilla are also available to choose from.
The interesting part is that these flavors are recreated using food additives instead of dangerous substances. Nicotine is the only addictive substance in an electronic cigarette refill cartridge, and other ingredients such as propylene glycol are all very safe to consume.
When you smoke tobacco cigarettes, on the other hand, you are consuming over 4,000 of carcinogenic substances. These dangerous substances are used in the processing of tobacco leaves, so residues of them are still found in the final products. By simply switching to an electronic cigarette, you are avoiding a lot of potential health risks instantly.
Even with the absence of over 4,000 of dangerous substances, the use of electronic cigarettes is not to be taken lightly. You still need to think about the level of nicotine you are consuming; nicotine is still relatively dangerous when consumed in large amount, so make sure you stick to light or ultra light refill cartridges – or even zero-nicotine refill cartridges – in order to keep your nicotine consumption at a very safe level. You will find electronic cigarettes healthier to consume for sure.
