Flay edges Mosaic on ‘Throwdown’
This one surprised us:
Bobby Flay beat out Teresa’s Mosaic Cafe in the “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” huevos rancheros competition, which first aired Wednesday on Food Network.
Come on – Mosaic has fresh tortillas, uses beans, and makes an elaborate sauce that starts with fresh chiles and tomatoes.
And Flay used chorizo, for goodness sake! And store-bought tortillas. Tsk tsk.
The Mosaic’s huevos rancheros are famous far beyond the Old Pueblo. And it’s easy for us to indulge: The restaurant is at 2455 N. Silverbell Road, 624-4512.
